Visitors can help celebrate the 20th “birthday” of the Key West Butterfly & Nature Conservatory from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, with a kid-centric family fun day and free admission to the renowned attraction at 1316 Duval St.

Conservation-minded divers interested in aiding in reef restoration in the Florida Keys can join marine scientists during hands-on coral restoration dive trips. These ecotourism experiences enable Keys visitors to connect with the area’s underwater ecosystem and actively play a role in protecting coral reefs for future generations.

“The Florida Keys: 200 Years of Paradise,” a 60-minute television program that explores the history of the continental United States’ southernmost island chain from the early 1800s to the present, is slated to debut Jan. 22 and 23 on South Florida’s Public Broadcasting Service channels.

Performances by American Aquarium, Ian Munsick, Pat Green, the Randy Rogers Band, Shane Smith & the Saints and other leading Americana and “Red Dirt” musical acts are among the anticipated highlights for audiences Tuesday through Saturday, Jan. 24-28, at Key West’s Mile 0 Fest.
